The Fight for the Remote Control Begins…as the Fall TV Season Launches

Credit: Jeff Golden

You won’t find warlock Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men tonight (Sept 19 at 9pm ET on CTV), Ashton Kutcher’s got that gig.  However, on the same night of its premiere, you can catch the Roast of Charlie Sheen on the Comedy Network at 10pm ET, and watch him as he gets violently torpedoed by the likes of roastmaster Seth MacFarlane, Captain Kirk, Kate Walsh, Patrice O’Neal, Mike Tyson and more.  But you’ll have to turn on your PVR as it’s also the night Castle premieres at 10pm ET on CTV — picking up after last season’s cliffhanger shooting of Detective Kate Beckett.  Dancing with the Stars also debuts tonight at 8pm ET on CTV Two, with celebrities David Arquette, Kristen Cavallari, Chaz Bono, Ricki Lake, Chynna Phillips and others hitting the dance floor. Who do you think will win the mirrorball trophy this season?  Tonight How I Met Your Mother also premieres.  So many options…definitely a night to set that PVR or gain control of the remote. Good luck with that.

Check out the new TV shows lined up for the Fall season as there are some great ones scheduled.  To see a rundown of them, check out TVguide.ca‘s: Fall Preview.  It provides you with a day-by-day television schedule, a list of all the new and returning shows, TV Guide critics’ take on each show along with preview trailers.

Here’s a trailer for one of my Fall favorites, Man Up! launching October 18th on CTV Two:

And on cable, one of my can’t-miss returning shows on TMN, Dexter returns in its 6th season (October 2nd at 10pm ET).  Here’s a teaser of what’s to come:

So grab the remote, program your PVR and enjoy!  And let me know what your favorite new and returning show is on TV.
