The Toronto Chocolate Festival is in town until October 23rd at Roy Thomson Hall. If you’re a chocoholic you will want to check out this event and try samples of chocolate in every tasty and delicious form.
Monster, a 3-day HarbourKIDS event for children aged 5-12 years, takes place this weekend (Oct 8-10). Monster events include a trip to a Monster’s Lair to meet a monster, crafts, games, Movie Monster, where you star as a monster and more.
- In theatre, Mirvish brings you 2 shows until October 30th: Chess The Musical, where “two of the world’s greatest chess masters battle it out at the world chess championships but their greatest contest is for the love of one woman”. The other is Private Lives, co-starring Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) and Paul Gross (Due South), wonderfully matched; their on-stage chemistry only intensifies from scene to scene.
- Sports: NHL kicks off tonight for Toronto with Maple Leafs taking on the Montreal Canadiens in the season opener. In Soccer: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers take place at BMO Field with Canada playing Puerto Rico.

- Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland kicks off Friday (Sept 30). Every weekend this month, the theme park brings you creepy attractions, mazes, rides and creatures that may scare you to tears.
- Cirque du Soleil Totem, a fascinating journey into the evolution of mankind goes on until October 9th. Acts include foot jugglers, roller skaters, trapeze, devil sticks, hoop dancers and unicycles.
